The  Wilderness of Mirrors

The phrase “wilderness of mirrors” from the poem has been alluded to by many other writers and artists. It has been used as the titles of plays by Van Badham and Charles Evered, of novels by Max Frisch, and of albums by bands such as Waysted. Rock singer Fish entitled his first solo album Vigil in a Wilderness of Mirrors.

Some commentators believe that James Jesus Angleton took the phrase from this poem when he described the confusion and strange loops of espionage and counter-intelligence, such as the Double-Cross System, as a “wilderness of mirrors”.^[24][25] It thence entered and has since become commonplace in the vocabulary of writers of spy novels or of popular historical writing about espionage. It was the title of an episode of the television series JAG where the protagonist is subjected to disinformation.^[26]

Another prominent line in the poem, “In depraved May, dogwood and chestnut, flowering judas/To be eaten, to be divided, to be drunk”, is the origin of the title of Katherine Anne Porter‘s first collection of short stories, Flowering Judas and Other Stories (1930).

“Operation Trump” appears to be a sequel to “Operation 9/11” in certain respects. One of the most interesting similarities, it seems to me, is that both operations were followed by the intensive, prolonged, and efficient disinformation campaigns. For the operation “Trump” it still is the continuing process.

The interactions between Ernst Ehrlau and Tyler Drumheller of CIA in the aftermath of 9/11: “He’s making us dance and he’s enjoying every minute of it. It makes him feel important.” Ehrlau’s behavior, from these descriptions, looks strange, puzzling, hostile, uncooperative, and defensive. This behavior and the circumstances of the Hamburg group raise further questions about Uhrlau’s possible association with the 9/11. 

Was Mr. Ernst Ehrlau ever properly investigated? 

How close is the Uhrlau’s association with the 9/11 and what is the nature of this association? It is absolutely inconceivable, in my humble opinion, that Herr Uhrlau, in his capacity as the chief of Hamburg Police, did not know, and possibly did not interact in some ways with the Hamburg cell of the future 9/11 hijackers. More than that, I think he was instrumental in conveying to the Russians the future  hijackers’ original plan to go to Chechnya to fight as Islamists. They were diverted instead to the US and started their training there for  the 9/11. “For all who draw the sword will die by the sword”, according to the old logic. 

Whose idea was it? Who assisted with this diversion? What was Herr Uhrlau’s role in all of this? He was close to Schröder, and Schröder was and is close to Putin. Is this how their close cooperation and the relationship started and developed? Was the common strategy hatched in their interactions? What are the unique communication and operational tools that they used?

The subject of the  German Intelligence and Jewish Sexual Scandals through history might open the new chapter with the Weiner-Abedin emails affair and investigations, and the very curious emergence of “Anthony Weiner vs Erik Prince As The  Antisemitic Narrative Of German Intelligence: American Jewish (“The WINNER!!!” – [in WW2] – A. The Questions, Unanswered and Unasked 

“Trump Russia affair: Key questions answered”, claimed the BBC. Me thinks humbly, that the key questions were not even asked, and the main question among them remains definitely unanswered: Who really was behind all of this? The issue of the possible “combined and complex ‘who’, a group of actors”, and for what really purposes, has to be addressed. This issue is still unclear, and the deep digging here might strike the gold of truth, eventually. 

The problem is that we do not even ask ourselves these types of questions or we do not  ask them persistently enough.

However, it might be a little easier to identify the truth and the true processes in real life and in social structures than in human body. The costs of these diagnostic errors in Intelligence Analysis might be immeasurably much higher. Was the official investigation and its results, of 9/11, one of such errors? How correct and how complete is our understanding of the whole post-1991 period? One diagnostic error might lead to the next, they snowball; and it becomes the nightmare. The procedural safeguard devices should be build into this process, the short circuit breakers; we need one now.

Telling Names in Literature – Google Search

It is close to the literary tools of symbolisms, telling names, allegories, and the genre of parables, mixed with the genres of the reality shows and the acts of the Performance Crimes.  These are the Puzzles: to understand, to interpret, to unravel, to solve. This approach to semantic interpretations of crimes, accidents, and the related phenomena can be called the “Interpretational Steganography“, “Steganalysis“, “Semantic Steganalysis“, or the “Hermeneutic Steganalysis“, or simply the Hermeneutic Analysis, including in criminology. The Hermeneutic Analysis in Criminology may be viewed as the qualitative scientific research aiming to detect (to establish) the “true patterns“. 

The use of the word “puzzle” went up 100% between 1950 and 2010. I guess people are getting much more puzzled these days, and they try to define this puzzlement. And this em-puzzlement has to be interpreted.

One thing we can learn here: Mr. Uhrlau manages his publicity and his Internet and Google presence very well, with the deft adeptness of the true and skillful master, which can be viewed as the confirmation of my hypothesis regarding him as the possible “Demiurge”. 

It is difficult to envisage how the certain states can be friends if their nature and the nature of their relations with the other states and social groups are deeply and irreversibly predatory. 

Mr. Uhrlau, why don’t you tell us your story, the whole story; the truth and nothing but the truth?! This might be a fascinating story, a lesson for humanity, a subject of studies for the jury of your peers.

Journalist Envisions Horrifying Future In Dystopian Novel About ‘Donald Jesus Trump’

The “Operation Trump” is the ultimate expose’ on the truly grand historical scale. It is structured as a “performance crime“, a warning about the future and at  the same time as the painful repetition compulsion, replay of the past; the historical tragicomedy and the psycho-historical trauma of fascism and totalitarianism. Stop Trump, the trumpism, the trumpistas, and their servants the  trumpeteers, it calls.

The players are the long list of “dramatis personae”, and many of them appear to be quite the unsavory characters, like the Russian Jewish Oligarchs and some of the  American politicians and the para-political circles and industry.

All this does not exclude the hypothetical possibility that Mr. Trump himself was unaware of all these machinations and was simply used as the “unwitting agent”. The degree of this “unwitting”-ness has to be determined. This aspect opens the issue of the degree and the effects of the penetration of the American and the Western Mass Media by the hostile powers and their intelligence services. 

“The phrase [“Big Lie” M.N.] was also used in a report prepared during the war by the United States Office of Strategic Services in describing Hitler’s psychological profile:
His primary rules were: never allow the public to cool off; never admit a fault or wrong; never concede that there may be some good in your enemy; never leave room for alternatives; never accept blame; concentrate on one enemy at a time and blame him for everything that goes wrong; people will believe a big lie sooner than a little one; and if you repeat it frequently enough people will sooner or later believe it.”

The list of the hypothetical “authors” of this hypothetical “play” might include Ernst Uhrlau, as one of the leaders and strategic thinkers of the German Intelligence, with the “real author” being this collective body itself: venerable, feared, despised, infamous, exclusive, phenomenal, genius, stupid, clumsy, and above all, quite a mysterious body and organisation.

In this article I try to explain, why I think, he might be on this list. The strings appear to be attached and concentrated in the palm of the one person’s hand, extending to the others in the multiple and various directions. This hypothetical culprit is the Joker, the Demiurg, the Criminal Mastermind, and the Puppet Master. 

The control over the financial aspects of these activities, concentrated within the Deutsche Bank, appears to be one of the most important keys and clues.

“One of Uhrlau’s more controversial acts in office was to buy the personal data of suspected tax evaders from people who had stolen the information from foreign banks. One of the high-profile victims of the initiative was Klaus Zumwinkel, former head of Germany’s postal service Deutsche Post.”

M.N.: This penchant for obtaining the computerized databases, by all means available, chimes well with the central characteristic of the recent waves of the “Performance Crimes“, and also the Trump-Russia Affair. These operations would be impossible without the sophisticated use of the comprehensive collections of the various databases.

Another of the Uhrlau’s penchants is for “history”.  “In Uhrlau’s case, topping the list are his efforts to review the problematic history of the BND’s creation after World War II. It has long been known that around 10 percent of the employees at the BND and its predecessor organization once served under SS chief Heinrich Himmler in Nazi Germany. In 2011, Uhrlau appointed an independent commission of historians to research the agency’s Nazi roots.”

“It’s no secret that intelligence agencies don’t like to disclose too much information about their own histories. There is even less transparency when that history involves mass murderers among the ranks. For this reason, it is all the more remarkable that the current BND head, Ernst Uhrlau, has been pushing for years to have more light cast on the early years of his organization, as part of Germany’s ongoing efforts to come to terms with its Nazi past. Uhrlau, a member of the center-left Social Democratic Party (SPD), has been trying since 2006 to move the issue forward.”

“Uhrlau, 62, began his career as academic at the Hamburg police school in 1974. The then Hamburg Social Democratic Party (SPD) Interior Senator Werner Staak appointed fellow SPD member Uhrlau his chief of staff in 1975. In 1981, Uhrlau transferred to the domestic intelligence agency in Hamburg and took over as vice president of the agency. Ten years later Uhrlau would become head of the agency. After serving in that post for five years, he was appointed Hamburg police president in 1996. The move to a federal level position and his entry into foreign intelligence work crystallized in 1998. He relocated to Berlin and took over a top-level function within the BND. He served in the Federal Chancellery, where he worked as an intermediary between the BND and the federal government. His efforts as skilled mediator and negotiator are an outgrowth of his coordination work within the sprawling and complex federal government. In 2008, he took a pounding from the German media and some politicians over his agency’s monitoring of e-mail correspondence between Afghan Trade and Industry Minister Amin Farhang and German journalist Susanne Koelbl. Uhrlau issued a formal apology to Koelbl for his agency’s surveillance of her activity.”

Was Uhrlau involved in some ways in the preparatory activities of the Hamburg cell when he was the Police Chief of Hamburg in 1996 – 1998? 

The pattern might emerge: to prepare the operation using the powers and resources of the official position, and then, before the start of the operation, to change jobs or to “retire”, to become less visible and “covered”, and to continue to manage the operation from this less visible, semi-official or non-official position (Hamburg Police Department, “Office for the protection of Constitution”, Deutsche Bank, etc.) 

How close is the Uhrlau’s association with the 9/11 and what is the nature of this association?

Hamburg is also well known as the major intelligence hub and the center of activities of the Soviet and Russian Intelligence Services. 

It is absolutely inconceivable, in my humble opinion, that Herr Uhrlau, in his capacity as the chief of Hamburg Police, did not know, and possibly did not interact in some ways with the Hamburg cell of the future 9/11 hijackers. More than that, I think he was instrumental in conveying to the Russians the future  hijackers’ original plan to go to Chechnya to fight as Islamists. They were diverted instead to the US and started their training there for  the 9/11. “For all who draw the sword will die by the sword”, according to the old logic. 

Whose idea was it? Who assisted with this diversion? What was Herr Uhrlau’s role in all of this? He was close to Schröder, and Schröder was and is close to Putin. Is this how their close cooperation and the relationship started and developed? Was the common strategy hatched in their interactions? What are the unique communication and operational tools that they used? 

From Wikipedia – Hamburg cell:

“On November 1, 1998, future-hijackers Mohamed Atta, Marwan al-Shehhi, and Ramzi bin al-Shibh moved into a three-room apartment (two bedrooms, one living room, one kitchen) together on Marienstraße. Here they formed the secretive Hamburg cell, which also included other minor participants in the 9/11 plot. They met together three or four times a week to discuss their anti-American and anti-Israeli views, and to decide how best to fight for their cause.

As late as 1999, the four core members of the group had intended to wage jihad in Chechnya, where Islamic jihadists were then and are now rebelling against the parent country of Russia. The 9/11 Commission Report notes in Chapter 5 that “according to bin al-Shibh [who is now in U.S. custody], a chance meeting on a train in Germany caused the group to travel to Afghanistan instead. An individual named Khalid al Masri (or Khalid al-Masri) approached bin al-Shibh and Shehhi (because they were Arabs with beards, bin al-Shibh thinks) and struck up a conversation about jihad in Chechnya. When they later called Masri and expressed interest in going to Chechnya, he told them to contact Abu Musab in Duisburg, Germany. Abu Musab turned out to be Mohamedou Ould Slahi, a significant al-Qaeda operative who, even then, was well known to U.S. and German intelligence, though neither government apparently knew he was operating in Germany in late 1999.”

Bin al-Shibh, Shehhi and Jarrah visited Slahi in Duisburg, where he convinced them that it would be best to train in Afghanistan first, because further experience would be useful, and anyway it was difficult at that time to get into Chechnya. Slahi instructed them to travel to Karachi, Pakistan, then to the Taliban office in Quetta, Pakistan, where they were to contact a man named Umar al Masri. Atta and Jarrah left Hamburg during the last week of November 1999. Shehhi left by himself around the same time; bin al-Shibh followed two weeks later.

“Umar al Masri” turned out to be a nonexistent person. The name was a code word that instructed members of the Taliban office to escort the men to Kandahar, Afghanistan, where they were convinced to join the al-Qaeda network and wage jihad against America. They met with Osama bin Laden himself and swore their loyalty to him. Mohamed Atta was chosen by Bin Laden as the leader of the group that would attack America; Atta would contact Bin Laden several more times before the attacks. The men then returned to Germany to enroll in flight training school, and later moved on to flight training schools in the United States at the recommendation of one of their instructors based in Germany.

The members of the Hamburg Cell were a boon to the 9/11 plot, which Khalid Shaikh Mohammed had proposed to Bin Laden in 1996. The Hamburg students were fluent in English, educated, accustomed to the Western lifestyle, radically Islamic, and capable of learning to pilot aircraft. “Bin Laden and Mohammed Atef wasted no time in assigning the Hamburg group to the most ambitious operation yet planned by al-Qaeda,” the 9/11 Commission Report says.

Many al-Qaeda members lived in the Hamburg apartment at various times. In all, 29 men listed the apartment as their home address while Mohamed Atta’s name was on the lease. Reportedly, Khalid Shaikh Mohammed visited the apartment repeatedly.

German intelligence monitored the apartment, but did not find any evidence against the residents. Both the United States’ Central Intelligence Agency and German Intelligence have received criticism for failing to share information on these and other al-Qaida members.”

It might be useful to keep in mind that Hamburg apparently is an intelligence services hub and a hotbed of Russian military intelligence activities. D. Kovtun, a Russian military intelligence officer, one of the accused in the murder of A. Litvinenko, lived and operated in Hamburg. It is conceivable that Hamburg cell hijackers were vetted, monitored and then selected there by their invisible GRU handlers. “The core group behind the 9/11 attacks was Al Qaeda’s so-called “Hamburg cell,” led by Bosnian jihad veteran Mohammed Haydar Zammar, reportedly the man who recruited Mohammed Atta, the ringleader of the 9/11 attacks.[27] Zammar has been variously described as the “patron” of the Hamburg Cell, the man “under whose tutelage” it operated,[28] and “a sort of surrogate father to the pilots surrounding Mohammed Atta.”[29] Ramzi Bin al-Shibh, “coordinator” of the 9/11 attacks, was seen in Bosnia in the summer of 1996.[30] Other 9/11 participants have been reported to have Bosnian connections as well.[31]” Zammar, a German citizen born in Syria (for a change from Saudis, Egyptians and Yemenis; which might be a significant one, due to the close Russia – Syria relations) was a recruiter for the Al Qaeda (and the GRU?), who lived in Boston at the time of September 11 attacks, was extradited to Syria from Morocco (but not to the US or Germany, despite the US assistance in capturing him in late 2001), reportedly spent some time in the Syrian prison, “was released as part of a prisoner exchange between the Islamist Syrian rebel group Ahrar al-Sham and the Syrian Government in September 2013” and within days joined ISIS in Raqqa. 

Mohammed Haydar Zammar (See Google News) was  captured in Syria in April of  2018.

The interactions between Ernst Ehrlau and Tyler Drumheller of CIA in the aftermath of 9/11 were described in these excerpts from the book “Curveball”: 







Ehrlau’s behavior, from these descriptions, looks strange, puzzling, hostile, uncooperative, and defensive. This behavior and the circumstances of the Hamburg group raise further questions about Uhrlau’s possible association with the 9/11.

The issue of proving that BND is not the CIA’s puppet any more, apparently appeared to be on the top of Uhrlau’s list of priorities.

Was Mr. Ernst Ehrlau ever properly investigated?

“A true secretist can only deliver the expected in homoeopathic doses, and silence can be a clever, encrypted message to an intellectual such as the opera and literary lover Uhrlau. No other German has worked for so long in various security apparatuses as the Hanseat with the unusual title in these circles of a graduate political scientist.”

M.N.: These traits: “intellectual”, “opera and literary lover”, although not uncommon at  all, are according to my observations, the “profile” traits of the suspect playing The Joker. You might agree with me if you review my previous posts for the last several years, trying to understand the psychology of the well publicized recent waves of the “performance crimes” with the purpose of conveying a certain, sometimes didactic message, a moral, a teaching story, full of dramatic and historical allusions. 

Trump – Russia Affair unfolds like a modern historical drama, a work of the talented playwright, a dramatist, possibly an intelligence or a criminal organisation chief, with a lot of formal and informal powers to make things happen. One of the keys to understanding might be that the performance and execution of the operations is a collective effort, with the big and  little help from the Mafia and other friends, but the whole comprehensive plan was conceived and set in motion by just one person, The Mastermind, The Demiurg, The Dramatist, The Writer, The Puppet Master In Disguise, Hades, The God of the Dead and Death, The Joker. 

It is very likely, in my humble opinion, that there is a real person (or persons) who fit this investigative profile. 

It is also possible that the “perp” left some clues deliberately, as the parts of his criminal signature and the claim to authorship. He wants to be recognized eventually, just like the artists and other creative people hunger their artistic recognition. His work is the object of art for him. Oh, you are so vain… 

Ernst Uhrlau was also described as “impressively self-confident”. A valuable trait for the Demiurg. “At the BND, the affable Schindler inherited Ernst Uhrlau, who was endowed with an impressive self-confidence.” He would also be uniquely positioned and “qualified” for this hypothetical role of The Joker-Demiurg by the virtue of having the multiple and abundant sources of information, connections, and financing. His political closeness to Gerhard Schröder might be a telling sign also. 

The subject of the  German Intelligence and Jewish Sexual Scandals through history might open the new chapter with the Weiner-Abedin emails affair and investigations, and the very curious emergence of “Anthony Weiner vs Erik Prince As The  Antisemitic Narrative Of German Intelligence: American Jewish (“The WINNER!!!” – [in WW2] – A. Weiner) Prince vs. Aryan Prince“. 

The truth is that we do not know who this Joker is. But it is likely that he exists, somewhere and  somehow, and he still is alive. And he can talk or communicate, too. So all of us could learn more of the truth, eventually. 

“Trump Russia affair: Key questions answered”, claimed the BBC. Me thinks humbly, that the key questions were not even asked, and the main question among them remains definitely unanswered: Who really was behind all of this? The issue of the possible “combined and complex ‘who’, a group of actors”, and for what really purposes, has to be addressed. This issue is still unclear, and the deep digging here might strike the gold of truth, eventually. 

The problem is that we do not even ask ourselves these types of questions or we do not  ask them persistently enough. 

The smart German boy Ernst might have fooled everyone: Putin, the Oligarchs, and the Great America! “Deutschland Uber Alles”!
